*sigh*

He always knows what i need to hear:

In the Day of Trouble I Seek the Lord
To the choirmaster: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph.

1 I cry aloud to God,
aloud to God, and he will hear me.
2 In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord;
in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying;
my soul refuses to be comforted.
3 When I remember God, I moan;
when I meditate, my spirit faints. Selah

4 You hold my eyelids open;
I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
5 I consider the days of old,
the years long ago.
6 I said, [1] “Let me remember my song in the night;
let me meditate in my heart.”
Then my spirit made a diligent search:
7 “Will the Lord spurn forever,
and never again be favorable?
8 Has his steadfast love forever ceased?
Are his promises at an end for all time?
9 Has God forgotten to be gracious?
Has he in anger shut up his compassion?” Selah

10 Then I said, “I will appeal to this,
to the years of the right hand of the Most High.”

11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your wonders of old.
12 I will ponder all your work,
and meditate on your mighty deeds.
13 Your way, O God, is holy.
What god is great like our God?
14 You are the God who works wonders;
you have made known your might among the peoples.
15 You with your arm redeemed your people,
the children of Jacob and Joseph. Selah

16 When the waters saw you, O God,
when the waters saw you, they were afraid;
indeed, the deep trembled.
17 The clouds poured out water;
the skies gave forth thunder;
your arrows flashed on every side.
18 The crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind;
your lightnings lighted up the world;
the earth trembled and shook.
19 Your way was through the sea,
your path through the great waters;
yet your footprints were unseen.
20 You led your people like a flock
by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

spiders

i had a really strange dream last night...

i was in some random room when all of a sudden, all of these different kinds of spiders started crawling out of every corner. i instinctively began killing all of them with a bat...but even though i kept killing these spiders, they just kept coming! i woke up tired this morning as if i was really fighting them off all night long.

spiritual implications? oh yeah. from past experiences, i usually remember dreams that have had an impact on my spiritual life in the present or future. don't get me wrong here. i'm not saying that the dreams i have are prophetic in any way...but oftentimes, i feel like God speaks to me through dreams when i'm really blind or deaf to something He's trying to tell me while i'm awake. i've read a lot of different articles concerning this issue and talked to pastors about it, and of course, the conclusion is always to pray about it and ask God for more insight. i already have an idea of what the dream has to do with...but still gotta chew on it some more.

just thought i would share this with the few people who actually still check xanga entries. i have fallen victim to checking facebook more often now.

summer is almost over.

kids say the darndest things

during lunch time...

me: celery is really good for you. you should eat it.
student: ew...but it tastes like grass! [making the grossed-out face]
me: how do you know what grass tastes like?
student: because i ate some.
me: when did you eat grass?
student: in the 2nd grade.
me: why did you eat grass?
student: because it tasted good, but i don't like the taste anymore.

a little while later...

[mr. robin yang openly declares that he likes the invisible woman from fantastic 4]

me: so do you girls think that boys are cute?
girls: EWWWW...noooooo!!!
girl #1: no WAY.
girl #2: they're the OPPOSITE of cute.
me: you really think so? well, that's gonna change when you get older.
girl #3: no it's not!
me: trust me. it'll change.
girl #2: so...you think that mr. so and so is cute?
me: nonono... i'm just saying...it'll change, and you'll start liking boys.
girls: EWWWW....NEVER!!!

yeah. that's what they think.
